Liver Injury from Combining Vardenavil and Tadalafil
Share
I'm posting this because I read some members of the r/AngionMethod community that are reliant on PDE5 inhibitors to get hard. If they're just starting their PE or journey, they might even need them to perform the basic AM1/2/3 exercises.
My worry is that if you need this sort of help (PDE5 inhibitors) to get an erection, you're quite toxic, and may have a long road of detox ahead of you.
What is a PDE5 Inhibitor?
A phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor is a class of drugs that treat erectile dysfunction (ED) by increasing blood flow to the penis. However.. the method in which they accomplish this is quite interesting.
These "inhibit" or "block" the PDE5 enzyme, which usually breaks down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). cGMP helps relax smooth muscle in the blood vessels, allowing them to dilate and increase blood flow. So.. by decreasing PDE5, these drugs maintain higher cGMP - which leads to longer lasting and firmer erections, in response to sexual stimulation.
PDE5 Drugs:
- Sildenafil (Viagra)
- Tadalafil (Cialis)
- Vardenafil (Levitra)
By inhibiting PDE5, these drugs help maintain higher levels of cGMP, leading to longer-lasting and firmer erections in response to sexual stimulation.
What about cholestasis (liver injury)?
A combination of vardenavil (Levitra) and tadalafil (Cialis) caused severe liver injury in just two consecutive days.

🔗 Here's another case in the LiverTox database where tadalafil was linked to cholestatic hepatitis within just a few days of starting the medication. Apparently, there was no long term damage to the bile ducts (phew!), but know what you're getting into. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

As I find more, I'll come back and talk more about this class of drugs.
