Angion Method 1
Share
I did not research, find, or invent this hand exercise. You can find more information on the Angion Method subreddit. I am just trying to compile easy-to-follow graphical instructions for those that are interested in this method of self-betterment.
Angion Method 1 or "AM1" is a hand exercise that focuses on moving blood through the deep dorsal vein by sliding your lubricated thumbs downwards (towards your body) - creating a "vacuum" that in turn creates increased blood flow (and venous return).
What is the Deep Dorsal Vein?
The deep dorsal vein is a major vein in the penis responsible for venous return, meaning it carries deoxygenated blood away from the erectile chambers back toward the body. It runs along the top side (dorsal surface) of the shaft, just beneath the skin and above the erectile tissues (corpora cavernosa).
- Function: Drains blood from the penis after an erection.
- Connection: It feeds into the prostatic venous plexus, allowing used blood to exit the system.
- Role in Erectile Function: If the deep dorsal vein is too "leaky", it can contribute to venous leak, making it hard to maintain an erection.
What are we doing here?
Since this is a major outflow vein, applying downward pressure in this hand exercise encourages venous drainage.
- Effect: This temporarily decreases pressure in the erectile chambers, which might create a partial vacuum effect inside the member.
- This mimics the natural post-ejaculation venous return process, but at a manually controlled pace. Plus, the post-ejaculation return is done just once (not for 20-30 minutes, like this hand exercise).
How do we perform AM1?
Let's look at the graphic below. Using water-based lubricant, moisten your hands and member to make the exercise easier to perform quickly (while also reducing friction and chafing).
Lie on your back. Support the underside of your member and move your thumbs down the top of your shaft, making sure to push the pads of your thumbs in between your corporal chambers (the two sides of your member). You may not be able to see the deep dorsal vein, but is is there, in all cases.
What can we expect?
- Increased body size
- Reduction in number of cold flaccids
- Visibly larger blood vessels
- Improved sensitivity
- Improved color
When should we move on to AM2?
When you can feel a pulse by gently pressing above the dorsal arteries.
How many reps and sets?
There are 3 speeds here.
-
- Fast
- Faster
- Fastest.
You may have to alternate speeds to account for fatigue, as you get accustomed to the exercise.
Ideally, you'd do 5 minute sets, and do 5 sets (for 25 minutes total), with rest time in between. Each 5 minute set can go 1..2..3..2..1.. in terms of speed.Just do your best!
