What is Peyronie’s Disease?
The penis gets a fibrotic curve from the formation of fibrotic tissue on one side of it. It can become uncomfortable, non-functional (in terms of sexual activity), and more. It can be a significant issue in the lives of the 3-9% of men that it affects.
So, calcium is the problem.
What does my body have too much of?
Let’s discuss collagen problems, calcium problems, and other toxicities that can have an impact on this disease.
Vitamin A Raises Calcium Levels in the Body
Hypervitaminosis A causes Hypercalcemia (high calcium in the blood). What does your body do to get rid of that calcium in the blood? It shoves it into the soft tissues - joints, cartilage, brain, heart, and other places (your penis).
Here’s a PubMed article titled “Increased dietary intake of vitamin A promotes aortic valve calcification in vivo”, where they clearly state that mature heart valves calcify in response to retinoic acid treatment. Mice were fed retinyl palmitate as part of this study.
Check the foods where retinyl palmitate is added. You’ll find it on the nutrition label for your Philadelphia Cream Cheese, your PopTarts, your “natural” Fruit Snacks from companies like Welch’s and others. Retinyl Palmitate is added to dog food as well, as mandated by the FDA.
The moral of the story here is that Vitamin A supplementation made mice develop heart valve calcification. Full stop.
Copper Raises Calcium Levels in the Body
Research shows copper’s role in calcium metabolism: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8015913/
Additionally, studies found that copper IUDs were developing calcium deposits on them: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/832075/
Vitamin D Supplementation Raises Calcium Levels
Vitamin D supplementation raises calcium levels in the body, which can contribute to calcification issues.
What Does My Body Not Have Enough Of?
Magnesium, an essential mineral that many are deficient in (using more, getting less), is involved in the homeostasis of calcium metabolism by antagonizing it.
Calcification is Connected to Peyronie’s
Research supporting this connection:
- https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21113997/ - “interlesional” - they’re injecting a calcium channel blocker into the plaques

Can You Reverse It?
Yes, you can dissolve the calcium deposits when you get enough magnesium and you stop bringing in toxicities. Give the body what it needs, stop giving it what it doesn’t want. Yes, you can heal from this.
Magnesium pills are largely ineffective, by the way. I recommend Nutrition Detective Magnesium Lotion instead. Apply externally only! The magnesium will make it into your bloodstream through the skin and reach the areas of highest priority. Fixing your systemic issues will give you the best shot at reversing your Peyronie’s.
